i learned of this movie last summer 2004. my ex told me to watch this, no questions asked. at 1st i thought its one of those cheesy type chick flicks but i was proved wrong. this one is an unpredictable yet simple and sweet touching story.
this is about gyun-woo, a happy-go-lucky korean college student. and a girl he just met in a train station. after a while, the girl realized she hasn't gotten over her ex-bf so then she decided that they should keep themselves apart for 2 years. gyun-woo kept himself busy learning things where he's weak and started to have a direction in life so that he'll be able to impress her the next time they meet. the girl didn't make it to their point and date of meet. she instead went to their meeting place a year after. then, she believed that if they're meant to be together, fate will find its way. just to learn from the old man whom she met under the tree (where she and gyun-woo was supposed to meet a year before) that fate is something that you decide to bridge that chance to become possible and it not just happen along the way.
partially based on a true love story from an online blog that Kim Ho-Sik wrote. this movie became a block buster hit in 2001 in south korea. if you haven't watched this big hit and wanna find out why, watch it! i highly recommend this "classic".
ive heard also that there's going to be a hollywood remake of this movie to be released next year. i just hope its not gonna be that ruined.
